Caribbean Stud Poker
Another form of Stud poker that has been gaining a lot of popularity lately in the casinos is the game called Caribbean stub poker. This is a unique game in that the players play only against the house and not the other players. In other words it is not important which player on the table has a better or a worse hand than you. All that matters in order for you to win is that you have to end up with a stronger hand than the dealer for the house.
The casino or the house will act as the bank and is represented by the dealer. The house or casino will pay out each and every winning bet that beats that of the dealer. This has become very popular in the casinos because it allows the players to concentrate on the hand that they have and the hand that the dealer has and not to be concerned with what the other players are doing.
The thing here is that if you are an experienced player in the game of poker, then you know that it is often imperative to keep track of all hand that are physically being played. That is because the number of cards being dealt during a game is finite and if you are aware of what cards are being dealt and which have not yet fallen, you are in a better position to make an informed decision as to what you need to do and what your actual chances of winning any particular hand might be.
Generally speaking it is a huge game of strategy that you can have a good advantage of and odds of winning if you follow what are considered by most players to be the cardinal rules of the game.
The edge that the house might have in the game can be lowered substantially if you keep track of a few simple rules of betting in this type of game. Firstly, you should never fold your hand in the game of Caribbean Stud if you are dealt a pair. This can also apply to a higher ranking hand but definitely on pairs. It is also advisable that if you get less than an Ace and King pair, you should immediately fold. While this is not a stead fast rule, if you manage to follow it pretty closely you will increase your odds of winning over the house.
There are a few things to keep in mind here as well. If the dealer or house is showing that they have a certain combination of cards face up then there are cards that you can play to effectively block that combination and secure a higher hand for yourself. The combinations are a little more than we can cover in such a limited space
Just by using the above mentioned strategy of Ace and King / Pairs playing it is the only effective way to reduce the edge that the house or the dealer will have over you while you play solid poker. It can lower this edge that they have by somewhere in the neighborhood of 2% to 2.5% which, in the games of chance, is a fairly high amount to add to your favor.
